In the way colour stays on the eye long after you look away - the deep indigos of hand-dyed cloth, the sun-warmed reds of old bazaars, the bright rhythm of patterns passed from one generation to the next. In the scent of spices that rise like a memory, in the soft chaos of voices bargaining and laughing, in the familiar comfort of neighbours lingering over chai and samosas. I think of holy rivers and misty mountains, sun-soaked beaches and the quiet green of tea and coffee plantations - a thousand small scenes that feel like home.

Today, I live in Europe. And it was this longing - for the sights, sounds, textures, and warmth - that gave birth to Amraie.

Amraie is our memory store: a place where nostalgia becomes something tangible. Where the colours of childhood and the poetry of everyday life are woven into textiles, preserved through craftsmanship, and brought into modern homes with care. Each piece is a thread between worlds - between what I come from and where I am now.

My husband and daughter share this dream with me. Together, we returned to India not just to source, but to listen - to find stories worth carrying back. Our journey led us to Rajasthan, and to Jaipur, where we found our first treasure: artisans whose hands hold knowledge refined over centuries, and whose work still feels alive with meaning.

There is so much more to discover across the vast tapestry of India - its landscapes, its people, its traditions and quiet innovations. But every beginning needs a first step.
